Basic 1

 

Basic 1 is the white belt poomse that will used for testing for yellow belt. It demonstrates the basics of Taekwondo and will provide you the foundation of future poomses you will practice.

New Stance - walking-stance

New Technique - middle-punch, down-block

Steps

 

Joon Bi

  1. Left hand back. Turn left. Walking stance down-block.

  2. Step forward punch.

  3. Right hand back. Turn right. Walking stance down block.

  4. Step forward punch.

  5. Left hand back. Turn left. Walking stance down block.

  6. Step forward punch.

  7. Step forward punch.

  8. Step forward punch. Ki-hap!

  9. Left hand back. Turn left. Walking stance down block. 

  10. Step forward punch.

  11. Step forward punch.

  12. Step forward punch. Ki-hap!

Baro

​

The hardest part of this poomse is the turning. Be mindful of which foot to turn on. For the most part, if you turn left, left foot is front. If you turn right, right foot is front.
